Thanks for info Phil,
I am scheduled for ECT very shortly..I am home from a four week hospital stay due to attempted suicide....I am on a short leash...go to day hospital and make sure I am not alone =:o(I would really like to hear how your friend makes out.....meds don't work for me either but I am on Lamictal and have to get it out of system before ECT.
I know there is lots of negative scary stuff out there about ECT. When you are desperate you do what is needed. I have done a lot of research, talked to others who have had it done and know, right now, it is my only option.Link below with some good info that I think I got from "Old School".
Thanks

I have a good friend whose 29 yr old daughter was severely depressed and I got involved with the situation at his request. She had her first treatment Thursday and will have 3, m-w-f of next week. They are doing this on an outpatient basis which is really cool. Saves money. This lady was going to kill herself. It was just a matter of when. I just told them the doctors names, my mother's experience, which was positive, and a list of a ton of questions.
