I totally agree with what Old School has posted here, plus I would add that my pdoc says the SAME thing that your SS pdoc does - I do NOT have psychosis because (like you) I know when I'm getting confused, irrational, and have obsessive thoughts. Also like you , even if I can't stop the thoughts I know they're off the wall. My pdoc also says that it is the SELF-AWARENESS which indicates that I'm not pyschotic and which separates NON psychotic from pyschotic - a person who iss psychotic believes that their delusions are true.
The husband of a friend of mine IS psychotic and I can see MAJOR differences between his believing his irrational thoughts and my knowing that when I have irrational thoughts that they are NOT for real, my knowing that something is *wrong* or off about the thoughts.
