Prozac / zoloft quandry..

Posted by colin wallace on March 19, 2002, at 11:50:35

Have a slight dilemma here.I'm currently responding very well indeed to sam-e/prozac.
Trouble is, I have to buy both of them, as we can only get generic Prozac here in the UK NHS(I have responded negatively to a generic and recently posted an article citing a NIMH study which concluded some generics produce undesirable side-effects over the original).
I could however, obtain zoloft for free on the NHS (hopefully non-generic!)and wondered if I should give it a shot for the sake of cost.
On the other hand, as I'm responding well to my current med regime, would a switch/trial really be a wise move?I'd hate to switch for a few months, only to have to return to Prozac and risk its not working as before.I'm thinking maybe shell out for the Prozac for as long as I can afford it to get the most out of it. Any thoughts from those who've used both meds??

Col.
