I posted a couple of years ago about my mother's illness (on Mother's day in 2000); I got some wonderfully sympathetic responses from this board along with one nasty one caling me selfish, but that's better ignored.
There is some good news to report. My mother had a really bad break down; she knew who she was but not where or when, and she admitted herself to a hospital for treatment.
She is on a Caribbean island in the Eastern Grenadines, a former British colony. My father is with her. This seems to be a good place for her. Unfortunately the doctors have limited access to modern drugs, and of course their prescriptions aren't valid in the U.S.
I'd prefer not to go to a U.S. doctor and ask him/her to prescribe without having seen her. If anyone has thoughts on how to proceed, plese feel free to e-mail. Again, this would all involve a doctor's prescription and the drugs would be U.S. FDA approved.
Thanks,
Abby
