In reply to Essential Tremors?, posted by KhAoS on March 5, 2002, at 22:51:39
Hi,
These are some pretty complicated questions maybe best
suited for the doctors. Is there a 1st line GP that wouldn't
be to expensive for 1 visit you can get into to do an
initial diagnosis and answer your questions? What was the cancer scare?
Tremor can sometimes just be a symtom of anxiety/panic,
which a medicine like a beta-blocker can treat, which
also by the way treats essential tremor.
But I think you may know this. Parkinson at 16,
am I reading your age correct? That's very young
to exhibit parkinson's.Anyways, I'm not a physician. Best to somehow
find a way to get into at least a GPs office.please take care.
John> Hi Im 16 M and over the last year have been having mental health problems such as anxiety (panic disorder), also some depression(general teen stuff). 2 Months after a cancer scare, I started noticing my hands and legs were very shaky. for instance if I layed down and had my knees bent they would shake uncontrollably. Than I noticed my hands shaking when I held em out. I read up on parkinsons disease and its symptoms. and on the symptoms "Essential Tremor" is on there. I constantly look for the "pill rolling (resting tremmor) and it drives me nutz, because if i see my thumb or fingers move it feels sometimes like im moving them. but I cant tell. can some1 describe their tremmors and what they look like.. in detail, and when they tremmor. I dont have the $ or inssurance to go to the doctor right now. But I need to put my mind at ease b4 I can go get the EEG's and EKG's done.
