When I'm depressed I get extremely lethargic and want to sleep all of the time. I started on prozac 20 mg/day which seemed to work well for a while. I also started an exercise program when I started the prozac and was eternally frustrated because I was working out a lot and gaining weight. My doc dropped the prozac to 10 mg/day and added 300 mg/day wellbutrin SR. This combination also worked well for a while and then suddenly around last November I just crashed. Suddenly I could hardly get out of bed in the morning and wanted to do nothing but sleep. When I told my doc he was surprised since prozac is supposed to be activating plus I was only taking 10 mg/day. I went off the prozac a couple of months ago and am feeling much better. Interestingly, I recently answered the survey on mindfixers.com which stated that I was probably suffering from a combination of depression and inattentive ADD. I took the survey results to my doc and he just added dexedrine spansules to the wellbutrin SR. I'm now up to 30 mg/day of the dex and I can't feel a thing yet. I guess what I'm trying to say is despite what the docs and the pharmacists think, a lot of people will be made lethargic on the SSRIs and some of us need an awful lot of stimulation to even feel normal.
