I'm on Depakote ER, but all I can tell you is that I have off set some of the hair loss (most of it, I just lose more than usual in the shower) by taking a multi-vitamin with selenium and also taking 50mg of zinc everyday. I have been taking paxil and depakote for the same amount of time, so I can't say which caused all the weight gain (my bet is paxil though). HTH
