Recommendations for pdocs in Texas?

Posted by Rocket_Boy on February 25, 2002, at 22:11:06

Can anyone recommend a good pdoc in Texas? Also, what is a "pdoc"? :)
I assume it is psychiatrist? My general practitioner who I have to go through
for insurance doesn't seem to know very much about anti-depressive and even
when I ask to try something and show him the research, he goes strictly by the
PDR. I wanted to try modafinil (sp?) with effexor cause it was making me to sleepy
but he said it was for narcolepsy ans wanted to rampp up my effexor to 150mg. But
if I was already too sleepy at a mere 37.5mg wouldnt this make it worse? I tend to
very controlling so am I just being hardheaded? Wouldnt be the first time ;)

Thanks,
Allen

p.s. I have Aetna insurance
