If you're not generally predisposed to addictions, and if you don't abuse the drug, I think you're unlikely to get hooked on Ambien. Ambien causes little "physical addiction" (dependence). Most people don't develop tolerance (even after quite a long time), and withdrawal symptoms (if any) consist mainly of mild rebound insomnia.
