In reply to day 2 on Nardil and all ok!!, posted by ross on February 22, 2002, at 21:38:14
Glad to hear you're ok on Nardil, Ross.
Medications I used along with Nardil:
Urecholine (Bethanechol) - a cholinergic to fight dry mouth and severe urinary retention
Inderal (propranolol) - a beta-blocker to fight the tremors
Ritalin (methylphenidate) - a stimulant to fight MAOI sedation
Serax (oxazepam) - a benzodiazepine used to fight MAOI insomnia.
Backup nifedipine for blood pressure emergencies (see http://www.dr-bob.org/tips/split/Nifedipine-for-emergencies.html)So that shows that medications can be added to MAOIs, although the idea of adding medications to MAOIs itself is innocuous.
Feel free to ask me other questions that you may have about MAOIs since I have been on phenelzine, tranylcypromine, isocarboxazid, selegiline, moclobemide, and pargyline....
