Hi-Rxcuriousity!!!! Have taken both provigil "modafinil" and cytomel as augmentating agents to boost antidepessant effectiveness. Provigil was a poor experience I was very enthusiastic about it's potential, was no help though. Mental clouding effect was intense though, as well as body aches and pains. Know of quite a few people that have tried it,none are still on it, couple felt initially they had some small effect on energy but all had severe cognitive problems on it,strange for a med that was proposed as an alerting vigilance enhancing med.:(:( "Cytomel" the t3 version" of thyroid and synthroid or levoxyl"the t4 version " of thyroid have used both, and armour thyroid too, the combination "t3 + t4" version of thyroid!! My experience is the thyroid augmentation route has been the most dramatic compared to lithium, provigil and even cylert. Ok here's the hard-part though I find you have to take some t3 and some t4 each day, very small amounts of each but combo seems to be like day n night compared to taking either t3 or t4 alone!! I take in range of about 25 > >50 micrograms t4 "levoxyl" and 5 or 10 micrograms t3 "cytomel" !!! Since I have both I can essentially formulate my most effective dose and approach. Armour thyroid which is a 4 to 1 ratio of "t4 & t3" mixture is essentially the same. If you try the straight cytomel and you feel it's not up to par suggest the armour thyroid "t4 + t3". I bet you'll see a profound difference!!! Good Luck!!! :):)
