Hi there,
Have more than a little empathy here for you I must say- my depression/anxiety reached new depths whilst teaching, and having tried an abundance of meds., zispin was the first to make any positive impact at all.
I reacted quite badly to it at first (but I was in a pretty bad state following a breakdown)and didnt react favourably to just about anything.I felt dazed, lethargig and very uncoordinated at the min. dose (was it 15mg), but grew used to it after a month or so. At 30mg I began to improve markedly (severe anxiety greatly reduced), and the side effects diminished to a great degree(the dreams it gave were outlandish- must get them printed sometime!!)At 45mg I made good inroads against the depression, and I was able to function MUCH better than with any other med I'd tried. The daytime grogginess does subside after a while (I was easily able to take daytime doses of 15mg).I did develop a ravenous appetite though, and had to let out my belt a few holes, but well worth it, for me at least.
I tok this med for almost 9 months with good effect, but became 'tolerant' of it and switched to effexor (yuch!)
All in all though, if necessary I'd have no qualms about taking it again.
Hope this helps.Colin.
