Before I noticed it taking over food taste, it first felt like I kept sticking my tongue on a 9v battery. And then after reading some of the other posts on Topo I see others describe a metallic taste. That's the constant state in my mouth at this point. Now if I take just a sip of Pepsi (Pepsiholic since childhood!) I feel like I'm drinking bad carbonated water from a fountain drink. Chocolate (my motto has always been 'promise me anything but give me chocolate!) is so incredibly sweet it's close to revolting. Most of my favored foods are no longer favored due to being tainted with the metallic taste. Depending on the food it can either taste too sweet now, or taste very bitter. I have noticed my appetite being suppressed which is a bonus to me, but food becomes even more of a struggle because of the taste factor. My water intake has certainly increased. I drank at least 64oz daily already, but since I started this I can't get enough. I keep trying to wash away the taste. I'm really hoping once I get to the desired dosage (unknown at this point) it will level off. Hence, for those who have encountered this, did it finally go away or did you get used to it so that you don't notice it any more? And one last thing. Does anyone take this for chronic headache or menstrual migraine headache? Did I answer your question sufficiently John? Or do you need a bit more detail than too sweet/bitter? Just let me know.
