Hey STOP NOW! Dilantin is also affects the heart through the sodium channels. In the hospital, we alway put patients on a heart monitor when we "load" them with dilantin. The loading dose is 1000 mg by mouth over 4 hours. So if you take 900 mg at once, you could go into an arrhythmia.Be careful .....

PS You shouldn't have to do this just to please your doctor. He is working for you. Take the meds if they help you feel better.
