> just added in the lamictal for added mood stabilization- psychiatrist prescribed the parnate and tegretol together- so what do you think?
> tegretol level is 1600mg- parnate is up around 80mg aday and sometimes higher depending on depression-You can combine them. Im sure you are aware of Tegretol's effect on the metabolism of other drugs..however, all 3 of these meds do act on the serotonin system: Tegretol stimulates the release of serotonin (as a secondary action), Lamictal interacts with the 5ht3 receptor and the re-uptake pump, and Parnate, as you know is a MAOI. Im sure your doc would not have precribed all 3 meds if s/he didn't think it was advisable
