Eating habits, calmness and Effexor

I have been on Effexor for 1 year now and at 225 mg. for six months. Before Effexor I started exhibiting OCD/mania-like symtoms and became obsessed with an intense "diet" and exercise program. Lost 45 pounds and looked good at 130 lbs. and looking back at pictures looked horrible at 120 pounds (I thought I "rocked"). But, this couch potato also ran 2 marathons and was running daily (and I never felt better, but my husband and my children were convinced I was "nuts" and I was overdoing it based on my compulsions and some wierd hypomania thing).

Since I have not had any compulsions or at least have not acted on them since going on Effexor, my eating habits have changed. Of course I have gained some of my weight back. I am also not weighing and measuring my food (28 grams of cereal for instance) and have lost the excitement over counting "points" with Weight Watchers (an excellent program, by the way, I just took it to the limits!).
With my own individual experience with Effexor I can say that the "calmness" (too much) leads to a lack of my motivation to exercise and I do experience from time-to-time fairly intense cravings for carbohydrates. I do believe, however, that a lifestyle change on my part would allow me to lose weight. However, it would take 10,000 volts or the addition of something activing like Wellbutrin to help me get going! And this is exactly what I will be discussing with my pdoc next week! Hope this helps!!
