In reply to Does the tremor/shakiness from wellbutrin go away?, posted by JGalt on January 3, 2002, at 9:28:22

Holding onto something as simple as a measuring spoon or a needle has become very difficult. I hate even eating in public anymore because it looks like I'm getting electrocuted just trying to eat. I've cut my ephedrine and caffeine usage both in half (now 25mg ephedrine and 100mg caffeine a day, rather low) and it has done little to stop the tremor. I'm sure other people have had this problem on this board, for those who have had it, does it go away after a while or no?

I would say that, for me, they went away...after a period (maybe a couple of weeks). When I first started Wellbutrin, I had a hard time. I felt really anxious and irritable and I shook like I had drunk too much coffee. I found that Xanax worked miracles in curbing this anxiety. The amount of shakiness you describe sounds like a lot. Mixing the caffeine and ephedrine with the Wellbutrin is undoubtedly adding to the tremor. Can you cut the ephedrine out completely and maybe stick to one cup of coffee in the morning? Personally, I think ephedrine is nasty stuff (i.e., I react poorly with it) but that doesn't mean it's necessarily bad for you. Maybe cut it out until you get used to the Wellbutrin.MB
