> I am really frustrated, I used to take prothiaden and then 5 years later Seroxat, came off the Seroxat 4 years ago, went back on for a brief period in that time. They both worked with great success. I became depressed again in June and have since tried Remeron, Seroxat, Zooloft, Celexa and now prozac, none of which have worked, not even a slight improvement. Can somebody please explain to me why this has happened? Have i Jeopardised my chances of them working by discontinuing them and then starting them again?

I've been on the medication merry-go-round for over ten years. One thing I've noticed over the years about starting and stopping meds is that Not only have I become less and less tolorant to almost all psychiatric medications, but those medications that used to work almost instantaneously no longer do anything for me but make me sick (e.g., Effexor). Personally, I don't think the brain ever goes back to baseline after being on one of these meds. That's a good thing if you get on the right med because you might, one day, be "cured." However, pdocs have no real way of finding the "right" medication for us. Our mental anguish allows us to justify being their guinnea pigs. My brain is way worse off than it was 10 years ago when I started these meds, but I keep trying them because the pain is so great. I'm playing the lottery and paying with my mind.MB
