It doesn't make you nowhere near as hungry and it is easier to build some tolerance to the sedation from the TCA than Remeron. Also, Elavil seems to be "energizing" without making you anxious like Remeron can.

> Mitch, a friend of mine is on elavil. he said when he takes it, 30 minues later he feels high, and then sleeps for a long time. I gave him remeron and he said there was no high, just became tired like he took a cap of niquil and fell alseep. He said the high is like he smoked mariuanna or took a few vicodin. He said he doesnt eat alot either, but does feel better.

> genoGeez, I never got "high" on it, but there *are* a lot of folks that have chronic pain problems that take it for that purpose and it can be quite effective. I have heard that Neurontin+Amitriptyline can be quite a "power-combo" for chronic pain, fibromyalgia, etc. Who knows?, folks that get some response to their depression from opiates might find that combo to be an effective one for them as well.
