xanax to valium experience

hello, i ran out of xanax for the last two days. I usually take .5mg of xanax two times a day. seems to work 6-8 hrs, then requiring another dose.
Yesterday, i took .25 of valium. even at that dose i feel sleepy. Xanax only at 1mg. I believe also xanax helps more with anxiety,valium more for sleep and sedation. Also my stomach aches from the valium, although maybe because i broke apart the pill
