Risperdal, how does it work? what does it do?

hi. Risperdal is part of my combo. I am currently taking 50mg zoloft, 0.5mg risperdal, and ativan 0.5mg 3 times a day. I suffer from very severe depression and I guess anxiety but maybe that is all from the depression. Like all the negative thoughts. worrying a lot. little self confidence. but on my current combo i seem to have enough confidence. enough to want to even live with someone with less fear of rejection which i would have a lot of previously. i feel livable currently. huge depression left but at least it isn't constantly painful to be alive. and at least i'm not suicidal.
i was wondering what type of effect does risperdal have on people?
