I don't know if I should go into a lot of details about what is going on (between my posts earlier on this page and on PSB, I've about worn out my welcome). But I'm not convinced the depakote is going to help anymore than any of the three mood stabilizers I am on currently -- lithium, topamax and seroquel. Any salespeople out there want to make a pitch on why I might want to make this switch?

In my personal experience Li helped more than Depakote for depression. But there are others here that have reported superior AD effects with Depakote. The question is: Will your pdoc allow you to flip back to lithium if you don't *like* it after a few weeks? Another thing-I am sure you have heard stories about stopping and starting MS and AD's can reduce their effectiveness-something to consider. What about just adding on the Depakote? If you feel crummier after a few weeks-drop it-if you feel better-maybe *titrate* off the lithium??
