Anyone found Effexor XR effective for fibromyalgia

Posted by PattyF on December 12, 2001, at 0:08:20

Hi! I have fibromyalgia and chronic Fatigue syndrome and have been taking Trazadone along with Klonipin, Neurontin, Flexeril, and Ultram to manage my symptoms which include inability to reach deep sleep (delta), moderate to severe episodes of joint pain and muscle spasms, and flare ups that range from acute to persistent (more than a week or two). Severe depression runs its course when I am in severe flare-ups, among other problems associated with FMS/CFS. Unfortunately, the trazadone, the klonipin, and Ultram (flexeril included) become less effective over time and my docs just keep increasing one or more. I was just prescribed Effexor XR in lieu of the trazadone and would like to know if any other FMS/CFS sufferers have had adequate results. Also, I saw some postings indicating some of you take Effexor concurrently with Trazadone and would like to know how both became prescribed to you? Why, if I may ask, they were prescribed concurrently? And, how effective they have been in treating your medical problems? Thank you for your kind assistance. P
