Remeron to Effexor

I'm in the process of switching from Remeron to Effexor. I'm currently taking 60 mgs. of Remeron. The Remeron works great but the weight gain is unbearable (60 lbs). Has anyone switched over from Remeron to Effexor? Is Effexor known for weight gain like Remeron? I'm told Effexor is similar to Remeron in the way it works.
