I know for sure that ghb has been used in Italy by the psychopharmacologist and researcher Gianluigi Gessa of the University of Cagliari.
They're using it for the treatment of alcholism and other addictions with success. I don't know any study or scientific evidence about its employment for the treatment of depression.
Professor Gessa is known worldwide because of his research and findings on dopamine.
I tried to get in touch with professor Gessa a month ago after i found out they're using new dopaminergic drugs for the treatment of depression : i've been talking with a woman of the university clinic staff who told me that you have to be a resident in order to follow their program. (Too bad!).
