They're using it for the treatment of alcholism and other addictions with success. I don't know any study or scientific evidence about its employment for the treatment of depression.
Professor Gessa is known worldwide because of his research and findings on dopamine.
I tried to get in touch with professor Gessa a month ago after i found out they're using new dopaminergic drugs for the treatment of depression : i've been talking with a woman of the university clinic staff who told me that you have to be a resident in order to follow their program. (Too bad!).
