I would guess it is just the combo of all the changes
happening in your body at once. Taking 1 med,
adding another and subtracting a 3rd...

The Lamictal generally has few side effects.
The more common ones are stupor, slurred speech,
itchy skin. But it can *definately* cause the Effexor to start
working differently in your body, which could
cause new Effexor oriented side effects.

For example, I have found that adding meds to Lamictal sometimes
gives me side effects consistent with the Lamictal
(stupor, slurred speech) and not the new med.
I think the new med changed the working of the
Lamictal.

Hope it passes...

Good luck,
John

> I have had clinical depression for over 18 months. Am on a bunch of meds, including effexor xr. Just stopped taking zyprexa and started on lamictal. I feel so sick. Is this withdrawal from zyprexa (10mg/day) or the new med? lamictal is supposed to have almost no side effects. I have off and on bad headaches, upset stomach, naseau, chills and just feel plain lousy. It's only been 3 days off zyprexa, on lamictal. Any insight would be appreciated!!!
