Glenn,

I know much of my fear had to do with never knowing if I wd. feel hopelessly drowsy all day/be plagued by uncontrollable pain.

It took years for me to find the right drs. to prescribe pain meds and a stimulant regularly. I feel I can depend on them to help me get through most of my days without having to feel 'ill' and having no dependable meds as recourse.

I am still struggling with low energy/lack of focus/motivation, but they have improved. I have restarted Zoloft since it can be 'activating' and yet helps w/anxiety as well (when it works). And, I want to have my thyroid and hormonal levels checked.

I have only recently found a good therapist and psychiatrist. My gp I have had for 3 yrs.

Present meds:

Zoloft 75mgs. nightly (will keep titrating up slowly)
clonazepam (Klonopin) 1-2 mgs. daily split doses
dextroamphetamine 40 mgs. split doses
propanolol (beta-blocker) 80mgs. (split doses)
darvocet 100 2x's a day (as needed)
carisoprodal (Soma, muscle relaxant) 350 3x daily
(as needed)

This has helped a lot. I am med dependent, in as much as I need to know that I have the pain relievers and klonopin regularly, if I need them. Much of my anxiety was fear of pain with no dependable source of medication.

The same is true of the stimulant. I NEED that or I can literally sleep for days on end! My brain is not fully 'awake' and functional for maore than an hour a day without stim support (have recently been diagnosed adult ADD. Well, some days I don't have to be so alert, so I just take less of the dex. That helps me get the rest I need. Sleep is so important for me to function well. I really need about 7-8 at night and a 60-90 minute nap mid-day (but, I rarely get it).

Hope this helps some. Keep in touch~

> Thankyou for replying, you do seem to have had a similar experience. I dont have the headaches anymore thanks to trazadone the first med I took which did nothing esle but zapped the headaches.
> The fear/anxiety/depression seems to have its own life whetherI am working or not, I only work part time and I do like my job , what seemed to break my brain was the constant pain followed by fear of the headaches, unfortunately the fear seems to have #stayed even though the headaches have gone!
> I am considering new meds, including prozac- starting very low, or perhaps zyprexa. I had a very bad worsening after 1 zoloft so I ve been rather off ssris since then.
> I know we are all different but would you mind letting me know what meds you have found helpful, it might give me some ideas.
> Thankyou again for caring to reply
