In reply to dexedrine dosing erratic? (for ADHD), posted by Holden on November 25, 2001, at 17:30:33

I started out on dexedrine, tried ritalin briefly, then adderall, and now back to dexedrine tablets and dexedrine spansules. Currently prescribed 10mg tabs and 15mg spansules in the AM, followed by another 10mg in tablets later in the afternoon.

> Sometimes 5mg seems enough in the AM, sometimes not....I've taken up to 15mg in the AM, which seems marginally better but it's hard to tell. The spansule does seem to help as it smoothens out any afternoon poop-out I've had in the past.

Other times it makes me feel lock-jawed, or tight.... And I find conversation very difficult at times also (as in I can't give more than one-sentence answers). Or it leaves me feeling really exhausted at some point in the day.

You might try one or two 10mg caps of nortripytline during the day with your current dexedrine dosage. It is only lightly sedative, and it seems to have a smoothing augmenting effect with the frequent small Wellbutrin doses I am taking (the WB "feels" like Adderall to me, but not as "buzzy").
