SAMe is not really new. Its been around since 1975 in Europe, and in the states for a few years. Actually it’s a natural chemical that the body produces. Here's a good link about SAMe-- http://www.iherb.com/same2.html

You can buy it online if you have a card. I gave it a trial for about two months, but didn't notice any difference in my mood at all. I think it cost me about $40 a month to take it.

There is a study there that says SAMe is more effective than the tricyclic desepermine, but I really question the source.
