Anhedonia rollercoaster: Mirapex?

Posted by Anna laura on November 21, 2001, at 2:40:34

I've been experiencing a shift in my anhedonia during the last week. I didn't think i had found the miracle cure cause i felt i still had to come a long way but i believed to have reached a fairly good enough mood to get started again and i was eager to work hard to get myself back on tracks.
Sadly my anhedonia came back after one week for no apparent reason. One positive thing is that i persuaded my pdoc to prescribe me mirapex.
I talked to him on the phone yesterday, showed him evidence it could work for some people, and he eventually told me "all right i'll prescribe it for you".
My question is: do i need to find a drug that gives me a steady mood state before adding mirapex to my cocktail? Do you think i could try it despite the spotted improvement i'm having with my current cocktail? I'm actually taking Effexor 300 mg and reboxetine, 8 mg (two tablets, which is the average dose).
