It can increase dopamine in some parts of
the brain that are indirectly linked to
a particular serotonin receptors. Specifically
the serotonin 5-ht2a receptor. Blocking this
receptor in Zyprexa will increase dopamine release.

The idea is to increase dopamine release to
counteract the dopamine antagonism in the medication
in areas of the brain that are not involved
in schizophrenia positive psychosis.

At the lower doses, the 5ht-2a antagonism dominates
the dopamine antagonism in the medication.
