You know, it never occurred to me to have back-up oxy; I'll get a script from my pdoc tomorrow. Thanks for the idea.
It feels strange to have taken oxy for five months now and now overnight switch over to methadone. My doctor did a conversion of how much methodone I would need based on my dose of oxycontin. My guess is that although I would feel more comfortable with an overlap of half oxy/half methadone for the first day, it's not going to fly with him. He's worked with pain meds a lot, so he should know what he's doing. (I hope). I didn't even know that methadone is a pain reliever.
How is your detox going? Are you going to have a Christmas baby, or is that too soon?
Thanks again for the suggestion, and I'll keep everyone up to date.
