> What is up with this Trileptal stuff??? I changed from Tegretol XR to this because the Tegretol was making me very tired and sweaty -- as well as doing nothing for my mental condition. I thought Trileptal was supposed to be easier to tolerate. I am now getting waves of nausea. I reduced from 300mg, down to 150mg, down to 75mg, and now I'm splitting them in half, and it's still the same!!! I've got to get off this stuff.

Bob,

I hear ya. The main reason a lot of doctors are switching their patients from Tegretol to Trileptal (mainly epilepsy patients) has to do with reduced drug interactions, liver toxicity, and the elimination of a hazard of blood disorders from Tegretol. It is a safety issue more than a "tolerability" one. I couldn't hack more than 75mg 3x daily. 300mg/day.. well close to vomiting. You probably will need to switch to something else.

Mitch
