I really liked the book because I could relate
to the "prozac experience" he was talking about
and the debate regarding the med changing our mood
and indirectly the way we think and this having a positive impact
on our psychological actions having spiraling upward
effect. This in comparison to psychotherapy,
trying to change the way we think directly which
is much more laborous and time consuming.I related to the patients in the book, because
I had the "prozac experience" a few fleeting times.
My whole outlook on life and my way to deal with
it would change when I got a positive response
on an anti-depressant. If only it would stick!
I feel like Captain Ahab trying to chase after
this big white whale of an experience that keeps
eluding me!-john
