I realize this is just anecdotal, but there are many reports of menstrual changes, acne, hair loss, bloating, not too mention the changes in libido that so many are concerned about. I have taken oral contraceptives for many years, and I thought effexor was somehow potentiating the effect of the pill (and later I thought the same with Wellbutrin). So I purposely went off the pill to see, if I experienced the same thing...which I did to a lesser degree.
Just as stress and depression can cause hormone changes in us (effecting adrenal and endocrine glands, etc., so can the meds that work on them.
Sorry this wasn't meant to be so long. There are a number of websites about women's reproductive anatomy and physiology--I know geocities has one. Such a web site will take you from the pituitary gland all the way to the ovaries!
I guess the bottom line is: once again--this is real--we're not just imagining this, even if someone tries to tell us we are!!!
Thanks
