Zyprexa is not only an antipsychotic, but it is also a mood stabilizer. It's even FDA approved as such for mania. There is tons of clinical and anecdotal evidence suggesting that Zyprexa has mild antidepressant qualities of its own, anti manic qualities, and that it is a good augmentation to antidepressants.

The doc you mentioned who knows that it is a mood stabilizer knows what he's talking about. The other one needs to catch up on some homework.
