Is that a typo on the 37 milligrams?
Usually Remeron is dispresed in increments
of 5 mg. Typically start at ~10-20 and go
upto 45 mg.Here is some useful information about Remeron,
but I don't know if it will answer the specifics
of your question- Remeron is an antihistamine (like benadryl)
At the lower doses, this is generally thought
to be responsible for sedation and weight gain.
You may grow tolerant to the anti-histamine
side effect over time. PS. benadryl is the
most common OTC sleep aid.- At the higher doses (say 30-45 mg) remeron
starts to act more at noradrenergic brain receptors.
It will have a general trend of become more
stimulating (and possiblity causing anxiety), but
generally with more anti-depressant kick and some
offset of the anti-histamine drowsiness. The time it takes for the side effects to subside
is a very individual matter. For some people it
will be the same day for others in could be 2 weeks.I'll say that at a given dose, I would hope that most
of the side effects would have subsided after about
2-3 weeks. My experience on anti-depressants is that
if I can't get over the side effects on a fixed dose
after 3 weeks, then usually the side effects don't
drop enough to make the med bearable. But that is
just me and everyone is different.-john

> Has anyone had increase in side effects whith increase of Remeron. Maybe I just need to go up real slow.
> I did increase the Remeron rather quickly in the beggining.
> Does anyone else notice agitation with higher doses of Remeron. Also does it take longer than a week for the side effects to subside?
