I did use an attorney simply because I was unable to fill out forms. My doctors were very cooperative and I was approved in 4 months on the first try. I spoke to my attorney on the phone for about an hour, signed some papers and spoke briefly to a SSDI rep (on the phone) who then spoke to my husband. I'm trying to remember the name of the firm- they only deal with SSD, it started with an A- sorry. Best of luck- Judy
