I'm in a bad spot here. I live in Mahopac, just north of Westchester in Putnam Co., and I need a good doctor who takes my insurance (Empire), isn't impossible to get hold of in an emergency, and loves to toss the Rx rule book out the window.
I've had a couple of great docs here, though. The first one, Joe Palumbo, went back into research and moved out of state. He referred me to someone he'd trained, Chris Nelson, but as far as I can tell he's way down in NYC now. There was also another guy at NYH/Cornell in White Plains I used to see when Palumbo was out of town; I can't recall his name but would recognize it if I saw it. Last year NYH merged with Presbyterian and he may have retired, cause he's not listed there or anywhere. Things started off OK with another doctor, but she was hopelessly overbooked, and her secretary was a bitch and a half who'd take a week to return my phone calls, and it was clear who was really in charge. Now I'm left high and dry without adequate meds to see me through till I see a new doctor next week, Dr. Lincoln Duffy, but I don't know if he's going to be any better. What I need someone with that research mentality who's not afraid of the pill police.
If anybody anyone can help, please email me. I'm really in a bind. Yesterday I ran out of Adderall and Xanax at the same time and I feel like shit.
Thanks,
Jeri
