Dave - Lithium augmentation of antidepressants is probably the best overall combination for the treatment of treatment-resistant unipolar depression. There is a lot of literature to back-up this claim. But, as with any drug regimen, "your mileage may vary". For some people the side effects of lithium are intolerable.
