Hi Jay,

I can't speak for Risperdol or Seroquel, although I have heard from others that there is a greater likelihood they make you feel sedated and also dizzy than does Zyprexa. Also, I am on a low dose of Zyprexa and *love* the stuff - I fought the increased appetite which subsided after a number of weeks. I take Zyprexa in the evening to help me RELAX (it quiets my racing thoughts mind!) and prepare me for being able to sleep. Before I started it, my anxiety was such that when my head hit the pillow thoughts began racing through my mind and I felt like I was "on alert" - I could NOT relax no matter what.

Because it takes awhile for Zyprexa to kick in for me, I take it a few hours before bedtime, then right at bedtime I take 1mg of Klonopin and this way of combining the two puts me to sleep very nicely. My pdoc said at least for me, the Zyprexa calms my mind, while the Klonopin calms my body and nerves.

I do feel a bit (literally, just a wee bit) foggy first thing in the morning, but after a cup of coffee, I'm just fine in the morning and I still have the good emotions I once had. Hope this gives you some insight.
-Janelle
