Sorry I have missed this post. I *have* lost plenty of weight with Pamelor in the past. The reaction was awful aggitation, insomnia, etc.I tried going back on it with Risperdal, and it worked for a short bit, then conked out. I also tried lithium, depakote, et al with Nortrip, and no success. :-(

From *Medline*, it seems two meds, Pamelor (nortriptyline) and protriptyline (Vivactil)< sp? >
have a *thermogenic* effect. The Pamelor caused just *horrid* sweating, and that is possibly why.
Just a walk down the street, and I would be sweating buckets.

For long-term treatment, I think maybe we should be having a second look at tricyclics.
