Hair loss, especially in a woman, is a symptom of hypothyroidism. Other symptoms of a thyroid problem include depression, fatigue, feeling cold, menstrual problems, infertility, elevated cholesterol, etc. If you think this might be your problem, insist on a thyroid panel test including a thyroid antibody test. Don't settle for just TSH thyroid test most doctors want to give you. It's a good diagnostic test but it is NOT the only thyroid test that should be used.
