I have a very dumb (but sincere) question: how did your boyfriend know that the 300mg Effexor was too much? The reason that I ask is that I am also one of those people who had to get beyond 225 mg to even begin to feel 'normal.' I stayed at 262.5 for over two months and then chopped the little pills again for 281.25, and I really can't tell much difference one way or the other...obviously it would be much simpler to take 300 mg--but if that is 'too much,' I'll stick with chopping tablets. Again, my question is: how do you know? I certainly knew when the meds started 'kicking in.' I felt human, alive, happy, content and motivated again--for starters ;-) I am capable of feeling sadness, pain and disappointment, but they no longer rule my life. When would I know that I have crossed this threshold?
Thanks for your response (and I also welcome any others to respond who have experienced this!)
