Cam - a question for a pharmacist

When I went to take one of my meds tonight I noticed that the freshness capsule the pharmacist adds to the bottle had punctured and that these clear chrystal like particles were all over the place as were some black flakes. I've tried to clear this stuff out but there's so much of it and when i took my meds i know I got the other stuff too. What is it? Is it harmful? Thanks
