Margit,
Though I have not yet heard of it actually happening, one of Adrafinil's possible side effects is gastric complaints. I think either Amisulpride or Adrafinil could be good choices. Personally, I would start with Amisulpride. I think that of the two drugs, Adrafinil and Amisulpride, the Amisulpride has the greatest potential benefits and the lowest risk for your symptoms. Actually aquiring it though is not as easy as it used to be, since a prescript is required. Basically though, I believe experimentation within the antipsychotic category might yield more benefits for you than any other category of medicines. Drugs such as Amisulpride, Sulpiride, Risperdal, Zyprexa could be on the list. One possible problem though no matter what you take is that Xanax. Your current dose of 6mg is huge. It is very likely it could dull any goodness that another med provides.
John> I have been following some of your messages in regard to the above medications. I suffer from PD, Anxiety, and Dystymia w/Depression. After 14 months of trying numerous meds, I am currently on 20mg Paxil, 2.5mg Zyprexa, 6mg Xanax, and 10mg Ritalin. The Zyprexa and Ritalin were just added one week ago and it seems that the Ritalin is already pooping out. Would the Zyprexa jump-start the Paxil? I was on Paxil in the past and it really helped me, until I went off and now it just doesn't want to do the trick. I have been now a total of 3 months on it combined with the Xanax, but it isn't working. Then my pdoc added the other 2 meds.

> My question though is, what are the side effects of Amisulpride and Adrafinil, especially in regard to sedation and gastric problems. I suffer from terrible acid reflux (induced partially by anxiety and meds) and was wondering if these meds would cause any more problems for the GI tract. Maybe if I am not to forward, you might have some suggestions for me that might work. (I can't take the TCAs, because of the cholinergic side effects - weaken the muscle that keeps the acid in the stomach). I am sorry for going on, but I am quite frustrated after 14 month of misery and just want to live a normal life again. Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.

> Oh, one more thing: I tried Prozac 5 years ago and I can't tolerate it (made me vomit for a whole week and gave my terrible stomach aches).
