I went to the pdoc for usual visit and was surprised that my thought of being on too high a dose of Lamictal (a mere 50 mg/day but I'm very sensitive to the meds) is probably WRONG. I've been taking 2 25mg pills in the morning, feeling pretty good then feeling progressively worse (build in anxiety, nervousness, headache, fatige) by late afternoon into evening. She thinks this may be because I don't have enough Lamictal and need more by that time of day. She said it gets into the body pretty fast and suggested that for now I split the dose - take one 25mg pill in am, and the other late afternoon.
She's not having me increase Lamictal yet because now we're holding all the stuff constant except EffexorXR - trying to taper off it again. I'm "only" on 75 mg, because that's all I could tolerate, so I'm backing down to 37.5 for awhile and based on what I've read here, will taper quite slowly so as to avoid withdrawal - been there, done that with Paxil (it was a nightmare).
