My psychiatrist is a huge fan of combining stimulants and Zyprexa. I didn't completely understand when he explained the technical reasons, but they seem to work in concert, and they do so in different parts of the brain. The trick though is finding the right stimulant. Trial and error is the only way. The cool thing with stimulants though is that you should be able to make a judgement within a week. No long wait to find out. As I've mentioned though, my favorite stimulant is Adrafinil. It's a much gentler kinder drug. Ritalin and Adderall both had some initial good effects for me, but they also pooped out very fast. Adrafinil at its minimum dose shows no sign of poopout with me.
