> I've been taking Parnate for "atypical" depression for years. I'm coming off of it slowly with the help of xanax and an anticonvulsent nuerontin. Some mood swings, cravings for the parnate, agitation, irritability. I haven't even stopped the last ten mgs yet. Does anyone know what's potentially in store for me for the next two weeks? I'm considering taking time off from work in case the withdrawl is horrific. Any suggestions, or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I have been on Parnate for most of the past 12 years, having come off it 4 or 5 times to try other meds. I've always come off it cold turkey except for the first time. Otherwise, I'm depressed after a few days of lower doses. I'm sure this doesn't work for everyone, but it works for me. In fact, I'm about to do it again unless I lose my nerve.
