For example, I have complex PTSD from my childhood, and when I had a job where my boss was like my mother (borderline), I exhibited an exacerbation of all my PTSD symptoms. This job was the precipitating factor in a major depression and led to me going on disability. Perhaps your experience with your boss triggers a kind of stress reaction you've had in your past?

I have a sane one now, and the difference is amazing -- I don't hate work, I worry less, and I'm less hyper about everything. Even just looking for another job will help you feel better.

Yes, it is true that any chronic stressors that crop up that I can't *control* worsens all of my symptoms. And come to think of it I have become more isolated and depressed and agoraphobic over the last two or three years. I came across someone I knew back when I was in college and they were just amazed at how devastated I looked and felt and told me- "what has happened to you, you used to be such a people person and so optimistic,". My pdoc wants me to keep the job despite everything and work on my "problems". I think your advice is better.
